ANTICIPATORY/REGULAR BAIL

When a person has reason to believe that he can be arrested on an accusation of having committed a non-bailable or bailable offence, he may apply to the High Court or the Session court for anticipatory bail after FIR has been lodged. Premature FIR can be rejected. Though bail is a post arrest legal process, it is granted only after arrest of the person whereas anticipatory bail is a pre-arrest legal process is anticipation of possibility of arrest of a person.
